A Cambuslang author is sharing his book with local schoolkids by reading it to them.
Ross Livingston, from Whitlawburn, had his children’s book published by company Author House.

The proud dad based ‘Super Scamper and Jayden’s Big Adventure’ on his son Jayden (3) who attends Cathkin Community Nursery.

In the story Jayden has adventures by riding around on the back of a large canine, visiting countries all around the world. Now Ross has been promoting the book in the local area, and recently preformed a reading at Loch Primary in Rutherglen.

He was delighted to get to read his work to a young audience and said: “I was reading to the primary ones and primary twos and it went really well.

“They seemed to enjoy the reading.
“They were asking a lot of good questions about the book and any kid who asked a good question about the book got a book mark as a prize.
“They were asking a lot of questions on the countries Jayden and Scamper visit.”

Ross now intends to take the book to even more schools in the community and spread the word about Scamper and Jayden.

He added: “I’m going to keep going along to the schools and share the book with them.”
A spokeswoman for Loch Primary was delighted the author took time to come and read his book to the youngsters in person.

She said: “Thanks to Ross for coming in and preforming the reading. All the children enjoyed it and asked excellent questions.”
The former Cathkin High pupil already has some ideas for his next book and said: “With the next book I want to expand on the countries.
“I already have a lot of ideas for it.”
