Author Shepard C. Wilbar developed real estate through the real estate crash of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Combinging his experience in property acquisition with his propensity for creative writing, Wilbar presents his new book “Dancing on the Edge” (published by AuthorHouse).

“Dancing on the Edge” tells the fictional life of Nick Packard from his youth to becoming a wealthy real estate developer in Boston. After years of great success in one of the hottest real estate markets in America, Nick runs into bad luck in the 1980s as his once-dynamic business falls into serious trouble and is choked by mafia infiltration. On top of this, the disastrous real estate market crash hits in the late 1980s.

One calamity after another strikes, making “Dancing on the Edge” a suspenseful thriller sure to entertain readers, especially Baby Boomers who will fall in love with the details of the period.

An excerpt from “Dancing on the Edge”:

The Boomer crowd was buzzed conversing in pairs and threesomes. Tommy left his seat and meandered around through the crowd to Nick’s chair. “Let’s leave and wind down the night at the Golden Sparrow. A few more drinks to celebrate. Besides, you and I should talk,” Tommy solemnly whispered in Nick’s ear.“Let’s pay the bill first, though,” Nick answered.

“It’s already paid. We’ll settle it later,” Tommy replied.

Nick agreed, and after many handshakes and hugs from the crowd, thronged with emotion, the partners departed from the festivities.

Wilbar paints a story where the places, real estate development details and economic events are real, with a fictional, but engaging and realistic plot.
