New Book Showcases Turning Children’s Lives Around

Christine Alisa’s ‘Turning the Hourglass’ asks readers to ponder ‘what happens after effort?’

LONG BEACH, Calif. (PRWEB) November 14, 2012

Author and therapist Christine Alisa, M.S. presents a collection of true stories of healing from trauma written from the children’s point of view in her new book “Turning the Hourglass: Children’s Passage Through Traumas and Past Lives” (published by AuthorHouse).
In each story the children describe their life and experiences in therapy. To help the reader understand the therapeutic process, Alisa includes additional “Therapist Notes,” which act as a guide for the adult reader. Included in these stories are the children’s experiences with abuse, birth, prenatal trauma and past life patterning.

An excerpt from Turning the Hourglass”:

“When I think back on my life, there was a time when everything changed for me. It was when I started living with my dad and step-mom. I want to tell my story like a time capsule, going backward and forward in time. I am going to start when I was nine years old…..I hated sitting still and I ran around a lot. I couldn’t pay attention to anything and everyone thought I wasn’t listening to them. I was angry and fought with my sister all the time. My dad thought there was something wrong with me so he took me to a forensic psychologist for some tests. I couldn’t pay attention to the tests and didn’t finish them. The doctor told my dad that I was ‘a very unusual child.’ Then my dad took me to see Chris Alisa; she’s a counselor that helps kids like me.”
“Turning the Hourglass” has been endorsed by leading experts in the field, including Violet Oaklander, Ph.D., who developed Gestalt Therapy with Children and Adolescents and is known internationally for her groundbreaking work, and Dr. Morris Netherton, who has worked with clients in Past Life Therapy for over 35 years while training therapists internationally.
